Paul, founder of PMD Plumbers, knew how to install boilers, fix leaks and get the job done. But like so many in the trades, he realised no one had ever actually taught him how to run a business. He had years of experience as a Gas Safe engineer, yet when it came to growing the company, scaling properly, and stepping back from the day-to-day, he felt like he was winging it.
He kept seeing Joseph Valente popping up on Facebook, and eventually turned to his partner and said, “You know what? We’re coming. Don’t worry, we’re coming.” That decision—finally joining Trade Mastermind—would prove to be the best investment he’s ever made in the business.
Paul calls it a no-brainer. The moment he joined the programme, everything changed. He wasn’t just learning from Joseph and the Trade Mastermind team—he was learning from a community of business owners who were sharing their own strategies and lessons. “The knowledge that everyone in the group is actually sharing is phenomenal,” he says. For the first time, Paul felt like he wasn’t alone.
It wasn’t just about tips and tactics. It was about completely shifting the way he approached the business. “We’re transitioning from a tradesman to a business owner,” he says. “And it’s been a no-brainer.” Instead of constantly chasing jobs and managing chaos, Paul began putting systems in place, thinking more commercially, and acting with long-term strategy in mind.
He’d actually met Joseph seven years earlier at Olympia when Joseph had just released his first book. Seeing how Joseph had built Trade Mastermind from those early days to now made Paul trust the process. “It’s great that he’s implemented it then, and I’m grateful for him to actually put on this course because now we’re going to exceed and do well.”
Now, with the right mindset, business training, and support network, Paul is on a clear path to scaling PMD Plumbers. He’s no longer just fixing boilers—he’s building a business that can run with or without him. And he’s doing it with confidence, clarity, and the right tools.
Asked whether he’d recommend Trade Mastermind, Paul doesn’t hesitate: “100% yes, I would recommend Trade Mastermind. I’m not a selfish person, so I’d like, you know, other businesses to do well as well.”
